Mata Savitri Foundation is a women-led non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting the life ideals of Mata Savitri Bai Phule, revered as the goddess of education in India. The foundation focuses on the social, cultural, moral, educational, and overall upliftment of marginalized communities.
Operating at the grassroots level, the foundation works to protect and promote the social, cultural, moral, political, economic, educational, and national interests of disadvantaged groups. The organization is committed to ensuring that more than 50% of all leadership positions are held by women, reflecting the principle that women are the true leaders within families and society, even in male-dominated communities.
The foundation actively establishes branches at the village, town, and neighborhood levels. Any woman who can organize at least two meetings per week is eligible to become an office-bearer after three months. The foundation mandates a minimum of two weekly meetings to ensure continuous engagement.
Since its establishment in 2020 in Gorakhpur district, Mata Savitri Foundation has been organizing educational and social awareness camps for women and children across villages. These events include distributing educational materials, calendars featuring eminent personalities, and textbooks for children.
In 2022 and 2023, the foundation published the annual Mata Savitri Panchang, highlighting the life struggles of national heroes in an impactful manner. To date, the organization has conducted over 300 camps across Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Shravasti, and Gonda districts, reaching more than 400 villages. Through these programs, grassroots communities receive direct support for social and educational development.
The Gonda branch, led by Chairperson Mrs. Savita Verma, has also published a booklet on the life and work of Mata Savitri Bai Phule, furthering the foundation’s educational mission.
माता सावित्री फाउंडेशन एक महिला-नेतृत्व वाली गैर-सरकारी संस्था है, जो भारत में शिक्षा की देवी के रूप में जानी जाने वाली माता सावित्री बाई फुले के जीवन आदर्शों के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए समर्पित है। यह फाउंडेशन समाज के कमजोर वर्गों के सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, नैतिक, शैक्षिक और समग्र उत्थान पर केंद्रित है।
संस्था जमीनी स्तर पर कार्य करती है और समाज के कमजोर वर्गों के सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक, नैतिक, राजनैतिक, आर्थिक, शैक्षिक और राष्ट्रीय हितों के संरक्षण और संवर्धन के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। फाउंडेशन यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि सभी नेतृत्व पदों में 50% से अधिक पद महिलाओं के पास हों, यह सिद्धांत मानते हुए कि पुरुष प्रधान समाज में भी परिवार और समाज की वास्तविक मुखिया महिला ही होती है।
यह फाउंडेशन गाँव, कस्बे और मोहल्लों में अपनी शाखाएँ खोलने के लिए सक्रिय रूप से कार्यरत है। कोई भी महिला जो सप्ताह में कम से कम दो बैठकें आयोजित कर सकती है, तीन महीने के बाद पदाधिकारी बनने के लिए योग्य होती है। संस्था यह सुनिश्चित करती है कि सप्ताह में न्यूनतम दो बैठकें आयोजित की जाएँ।
2020 में गोरखपुर जिले में स्थापित, माता सावित्री फाउंडेशन ने गाँव-गाँव में महिलाओं और बच्चों के लिए शिक्षा और सामाजिक जागरूकता कैंप आयोजित किए हैं। इन आयोजनों में शैक्षिक सामग्री, महापुरुषों की तस्वीरों वाले कैलेंडर और बच्चों के लिए पाठ्यपुस्तकों का वितरण किया जाता है।
वर्ष 2022 और 2023 में संस्था ने माता सावित्री पंचांग प्रकाशित किया, जिसमें राष्ट्रीय महापुरुषों के जीवन संघर्ष को प्रभावशाली ढंग से दर्शाया गया। अब तक, इस संस्था ने गोरखपुर, कुशीनगर, श्रावस्ती और गोंडा जिलों में 300 से अधिक कैंप आयोजित किए हैं, और 400 से अधिक गाँवों तक अपनी पहुँच बनाई है। इन कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से, ग्राम स्तर पर रहने वाले नागरिकों को सामाजिक और शैक्षिक विकास के लिए प्रत्यक्ष सहायता प्रदान की जाती है।
गोंडा शाखा की अध्यक्ष श्रीमती सविता वर्मा ने माता सावित्री बाई फुले के जीवन और कार्य पर एक पुस्तिका भी प्रकाशित की है, जो फाउंडेशन के शैक्षिक मिशन को और आगे बढ़ाती है।
